Nullarbor Wildlife

Nullarbor Traveller goes to magic places so the animals trusted us completely – and all of us agreed there’s something special about coming face to face with a sea lion that throws a strand of sea weed at you and expects you to pass it back!

That night we went ‘spotlighting’ and saw Kangaroos, Emus and wombats in their natural environment!

The startling blue sea of Lucky Bay was our next stop in the Cape Le Grand National Park. It should have been called Paradise Bay with everyone grabbing a boogie board or a snorkel and plunging into the waves.

There was almost a mutiny to get us to leave the white beach in the morning – but the Stirling ranges, one of the most spectacular national parks in Australia soon made up for it.

We clambered to the top of Frenchman’s Peak and gazed over limitless miles of forest and space.

The next day we were swinging through the trees of the famous Tree Top Walk in the Walpole Nornalup National Park. The giant Tingle Trees are aptly named. Swaying gentle, 40 feet up in the air on a sturdy, but decidedly mobile bridge.

The next day driving into the cool of a Karri Tree forest, one girl shot up to the top of the incredible Diamond Tree – a giant metal ladder reaching 75 metres up – while the rest of us loitered a few metres above the ground.
