A word from some Nullarbor Travellers
Alison, Australia, May 2013,
I would like to thank your company for a most memorable trip around the southwest corner of our continent.
Both the tour leaders (Craig and Chip) were most friendly and nothing ever seemed to bother them, either silly questions or seeking information. They were also great cooks and the food was something to look forward to, as every meal was different and extremely well prepared and presented.
The evening destinations and camp sites were well chosen and I especially liked and enjoyed the remote Snottygobble bush camp. The 7 kilometres walt to Lucky Bay andthat camp site was a chance to really appreciate the colours of the area - white sand, and the greens and blues of the water, not to mention the colours and patterns in the rocks.
The activities available showed great variety and although I was only party for 6 days, I was amazed at what could be fittedinto one day. The valley of the Giants and the fire tower were perhaps my favourite experiences, followed closely by visits to the wineries in the Margaret River area.
Climbing Mount Hassall was a buzz, and at 71, it was an achievement that I was not far behind those people almost a quarter of my age! The flexibility which was possible if proposed activities could not be undertaken was amazing and the duty of care shown by the tour leaders was commendable.
The cultural experience at Ngilgi Caves, and the caves themselves (one of the better caves I have visited) was an unexpected and different type of activity, most enjoyable to me as I love the outdoors and nature. The use of coloured lighting enhanced many of the cave formations and the opportunity to explore after the guided tour was a nice gesture. Josh's Koomal Dreaming would have given insight into Aboriginal culture and knowledge for the overseas visitors.
Sincere thanksagain and I would recommend you company to anyone wishing to travel across the bottom of Australia.

It was one of the best experiences in this 24 years in Aus!! Everything was special: sleeping in a swag under countless stars, swimming with sea lions and dolphins, enjoying sand dunes, going on the whitest beach in the world, etc. But the best thing was spending special moments with new friends and our excellent tour guide!!
Thank you very much Simo :)

I have just returned from Australia - the highlight of my 6 weeks was undoubtedly Nullarbor Traveller's 10 day Adelaide to Perth tour.
What a fantastic experience it was. I would particularly like to thank your guide, Trent. As a senior traveller he treated me in such a way that I never felt out of things...and the food, superb.
Good luck to you guys in the future and best wishes to Trent.
Just the best.

Great trip. Glad I made it . Having made my decision based on past, it was a great, at times humbling self awareness journey + acceptance and integration of my life's adventures, privileges + greater spiritual meanings. The past 10 days have been fantastic; my most memorable experiences include seeing and learning about Australien flora and fauna - Craig has a great knowledge; playing with wild dolphins; standing up a surf board for the first time - Spike was a great teacher; Cape le Grand and the walks were truly stunning and well selected.
Rescuing the camel from the quagmire was a once in a life time experience and sleeping under the stars watching a meteorite shower after eating fantastic food and socialising with new friends around the campfire.
Josh's aboriginal culture morning was fascinating and again another highlight of the trip. Also very much appreciated the charging facilities Craig provided!

Hello JO!!
It's useless saying that, but I really spent a fantastic time with the group thanks to your Company!
I'm in Esperance now and I already met lots of tourists from overseas asking information for travelling.
I'm promoting your Company as the best way to cross the Country, so no wonder if you will have enthusiastic backpackers sent by me
...
I'm waiting for the call of your next driver arriving in Esperance on the 17Th and I'll be ready to leave with him and the group to Albany direction.
Hope you're OK!
Keep in touch! Cheers!

There were many memorable experiences on the tour, but I think the best one was when the bus/trailer got stuck when leaving the camp site south of Norseman.

Danielle, United Kingdom January 2012,
Its difficult for me to pick a most memorable part as all of the trip was fantastic. From just camping (and teasing Craig) to swimming with the dolphins and sea lions. Everything was absolutely fantastic. It was my first trip to Australia and our travel agents didn't provide us with any information about Nullabor traveller at all. They didn't mention anything about a website or a brochure. Our 5 days on the Nullarbor was the best 5 days of the 3 weeks that we were in Australia. I will be doing it again in the future. Thanks to all of you for making my holiday one to remember.
Already doing a fantastic job - no pointers needed :)
Thanks Danielle, appreciate the feedback

Happy New Year!
Ended up having a fabulous time on Craig's tour--the weather was perfect! Spent a lovely week in Perth, and am now in Bali--zipping through traffic on a motorbike, so far away from the peace of the Nullarbor!
Have written my first post about the experience: http://www.cestchristine.com/2012/01/nullarbor-traveller-where-the-journey-is-the-experience/
Hope all is well with everyone at Coodlie Park :)

it was a wonderful tour, and you should be glad to have such an excellent chef and such a quick, competent and engaged man like Simmo as tour guide.

Happy new year to you, your wife and all the people on the farm!

Monica, Australia December 2011 ,
It is really hard to pin point just one memorable experience. But if I had to, I would have to pick between the whole camping experience and the water activities (surfing, swimming with sea-lions and dolphins). And I think that the camping experience would have to be the winner simply because it has completely changed the way I view the outdoors. It [the outdoors] is no longer a scary unknown but something that I have grown to love and appreciate over the course of the trip. No longer just a city girl :)
Craig did a fantastic job at keeping up the enthusiasm levels of the group and made sure that we were well looked after. The meals were great. And I must mention that his response to the bush fire situation was impressive. He was calm and constantly updated himself with what was happening and made a quick and careful plans which kept us well away from harm's way (and just in time too).

Peter, UK May 2011,
Would have enjoyed a couple of bushwalks out in the Nullarbor, way out in genuine bush without paths. The aboriginal experience was brilliant, some sort of longer more in depth experience, camping and helping would be amazing. Wasn't particularly excited by the caving (adventure caving would be a lot more fun) or the tree top walk. Loved the flexibility and friendliness of the whole tour, sitting around the campfire in the evenings
Peter, UK May 2011
Shayne, UK February 2011,
Hello Hassie,
I just wanted to say thank you for an amazing trip i was very impressed on how the tour was organised and run. My tour guide Tim Robinson was fantastic very easy going and made sure everyone was having a ball, i class him as very valuable in your company and with his previous 12yrs experience in that line of work showed he could handle any situation even when we had a lady named susie on board which we had picked up from MARYS place. Mary was an amazing lady a pleasure to have met her and you could feel her warmth and that she was geniune as she welcomed our group into her home. our group ended up being small but we all stuck to each other like glue and formed a solid bond between everyone. We all ended up with nicknames along the way which also have stuck with us! Miriam (aka stumbles) for falling over about an hour into the trip. Alision (aka Mozzie) for being eaten alive out there by mosqitoes. Lucy (aka Princess) for always wearing makeup and sleeping in a tent. Cyril (aka Coco Pops) for having a name sounding like cereal. Mirco (aka Miracle) for having a name that also sounded the same. Shayne (aka Mc Gyver) for my bush craft survival skills.
I also want to say thank you for reccomending the shark dive the seal and dolphin swim and also for recommending to stay in adelaide a day or two extra as groups normally have dinner as they have created a bond over 9days!
Well we all did one better i think our group was so close we all changed plans, flights, accomadation and stayed in adelaide for 3days then hired 2 hertz cars and did our own road trip along the coast all the way back to sydney were we continued to party we all saw the great ocean road and many other amazing places along the way such as phillip island penguins!
we have all exchanged contacts and have plans to have a reunion in prague as it is a location for us all to get to as most live overseas, im the only one from oz.
We all loved coodile park and appreciated your hospitality and for the nocturnal tour which was absolutely amazing! Thank you also for taking us down to your beach we had a great time down there oh and also play a card game with us one evening was good to be playing cards with the owner of the tour company as i think that interaction with clients is a valuable part of bussiness as i think in most cases tour companys just take your money and you never get to see anyone in charge or they are not very interactive with email responses such as comfirmations etc.
Thank you very much for your time it was much appreciated, if there is a site or info to be a woofie i would be interested as i noticed you had one gentleman who was learning english and another gentleman who was german both nice guys and friendly, also mary had some woofies also.
Take care and keep up the good work!
Best wishes,

The tour started in Perth, under a bright sun for a beautiful morning :) it's always a good first step! With only 5 passengers aboard, and 2 of them staying in Esperance, it was a bit of a challenge for Craig - amazing tour guide! - to keep us entertain while crossing the Nullarbor. Well, he has been up to it the whole time. We all contributed to the happiness and well-being of each others during those 9 days, and I had a bowl! Great time, great laughs, it felt like the bus was our home and family at all time. I'll always remember the nights while crossing the Nullarbor, just the 4 of us and the camp fire. Who cares about the rest of the world? Everything went well, the activities were really great (especially the sea-lions & dolphins diving, as well as the tuna diving), we just ended up the last day with a flat tire... We missed the Flinders Range walk, but had already done so many things! All that matters, is that I arrived safe in Adelaide with a lot of good memories, and that's exactly what happened. Thank you Nullarbor traveller for this beautiful tour, the good organization, the contacts we had while we stayed at Coodlie Park, it has been really pleasant. I wouldn't change anything :) and good job Craig!

The whole trip was really good, but I particularly enjoyed Cape Le Grand for the walk, the beautiful beaches and views, and the stir fry was quite tasty as well!
Swimming with the dolphins and sea lions in Baird Bay was fantastic, and makes me want to practice snorkeling so that I'll be able to do it again and Mikkira Station was pretty special as well. it was a great time, thanks again!
Skypo Family, Western Australia,
Why would you drive the Nullarbor when you can go with Nullarbor Traveller? Our family of 4 had a blast on our tour and saw so much more than if we had just driven ourselves. Craig, our guide was the ultimate tour guide, and his knowledge and obvious love of his job was appreciated by all of us on board. Thanks Craig so much. The highlights would have been the surfing lessons (awesome!), Koonalda Station (sorry about the dunny door guys!), the ocean mist & views from the Head of Bight, sleeping under the stars at Warren Gorge on a perfect night, the kangas at Lucky Bay and all the cool signage along the way! The wombat rescue at Ceduna was also a treat and we hope it will be a permanent addition to the intinerary. The camping was good, despite having some blah weather, the swags surprisingly comfortable and it was great to have a couple of nights at Coodlie Park Farm and meet the other tour bus. (and see the wombats going down holes!) The food was yummy, and Craig was very challenged with 2 bizarre food allergies on board that he had to cope with! Thanks to Jo & Hassie for everything, every Aussie should do this tour and see the real Australia! Thank you also for making our girls so welcome and having no problems about taking them on your tour. They will never forget it, and neither will their Mum & Dad!
Stan, Shelley, Skye and Jade, Australia,

We seriously had a blast on our tour, apart from the crappy weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Craig is a solid, awesome guy and we can't tell you how much he added to our experience. He is a true find, who loves what he does. He treated our girls like gold, and spent many an hour chatting to either one of them (who chose the front passenger seat first!)
I have written an article for the West Australian Newspaper Travel Guide about our tour with Nullarbor Traveller. I think that this part of the world is soooo worthy of a bit of time, instead of just "driving it", and if/when it gets published I will let you know. You deserve the kudos.
Your tour was, we reckon, the only way to do the Nullarbor. We saw so many things we wouldn't have if we just drove it and we will ( & have already) recommend to all our rellies and friends.
Again Hassie, we are grateful to you and Jo for your kindness in letting us experience your tour.
Hassie and Jo- thank you once again...all the very best...and if you ever need anything that we can help with, just drop us a line OK?
With the best of wishes,
Stan, Shelley, Skye and Jade
Dr Bob, Sweden 2011,
The place I liked the most was cape le grand (esperance)... awesome.. the beaches... ahhhh...wish we had even more time there since the first day was ruined by rain. The "swagging" through the entire tour left me missing it alot when sleeping in a real bed. Best tour I did and the character and lenght of the tour brought us even closer compared to other tours. Also enjoyed meeting the other busses on the route. Our tour guide was an "Evil" but good man ;-)

The aboriginal experience was brilliant! Loved the flexibility and friendliness of the whole tour, sitting around the campfire in the evenings. My wow moment on tour was Cape Le Grand National Park, the first moment we saw Thistle and Cove and Lucky Bay, that was just amazing.

Laurine, Belgium April 2011,
The tour started in Perth, under a bright sun for a beautiful morning :) it's always a good first step!

Tobias, Sweden April 2011,
What I will remember most is, except for the people I travelled with of course, must be the surfing. It was the first time I ever surfed and it was so fun. The instructor seemed both reliable and experienced. Other very memorable experienced was the views from frenchmans peak, the great australian bight and the tasla caves! The sandboading was fun, it was a bit to windy but still fun. It is a great idea that u meet other crews on the trip and two nights at coodlie park is perfect! To bad that we did'nt see any wombats though... The crew at coodlie park, Joe, Kim and Manny, was very nice and friendly. Coodlie park became your home after just two days and a bit sad to leave it...

Your tour is great and the tour guides are really friendly and funny. My wow moment was swimming with the dolphins and sea lions, this was simply amazing! I've never had a better experience before and I couldn't have spent my money better. The great thing is that they are all wild animals and can leave whenever they like, but they are so interactive and playful!

The Perth to Adelaide tour was an amazing experience. I could not have asked for a better tour guide and tour group. Simon was very accommodating to everyone’s needs on the bus and really went above and beyond to make our experience exceptional. He was well organized, on the ball, always woke us up, always cooked us delicious food, and was always willing to make an extra unscheduled stop so we could get ice cream. By far one of the best tour guides I have ever come across in my travels. I really enjoyed all of the activities on the tour especially the sea lion swim and shark dives. I had such a great time I am considering taking the tour again in the other direction later on this year. I will definitely recommend this tour to friends and other backpackers meet along the way.

Kim, United Kingdom December 2010,
There were so many different people on the tour, but despite this we all had a fab time. Craig had a key part to play in this by trying to get everybody involved throughout the trip. Despite our group only being Craig's second tour, he was able to give us a lot of information about the places we visited, whilst also making the journey fun at the same time.
The best part of the trip for me was firstly Lucky Bay, which is just so beautiful, but it was just a shame that the weather was not any better. The second best part was the bus breaking down within a couple of hours of setting off. Craig managed the situation brilliantly whilst organising with Hassie another bus. Also in true, friendly Australian style, a local farmer collected the whole group and drove us all to his house so that we could use his pool (this would so not happen in the UK). Within a few hours we were on another bus, and as a bonus we got to spend the night at Wave Rock!
I cannot praise this tour (and tour guide) enough. If you guys ever do anymore tours around Australia, when I next visit I would definitely want to go with you again. I would also recommend to people to try the Nullarbor even if you are scared of sleeping in a swag! It is the most amazing experience, and actually really very comfortable.
Thank you Craig for being a great tour guide, and with showing us such a vast and beautiful part of your country. For more of Kim's tour click here

Hi Hassie and Jo -
Thanks so much for the few days I spent with you at the end of last week. I thought it was great to see a bit of Australia that has been less effected by the distinct American influence and to say the play is full of natural beauty would be a cruel understatement.
It was also lovely to meet two genuinely enthusiastic and completely warming hosts. I have already been shouting from the rooftops about your tours. Let's hope I can get some more magazines interested.

Kimberley, The Netherlands January 2011,
I want to thank Nullarbor Traveller for the great tour I had. I had a great tour! I had so much fun, those 10 days on tour with everybody. We saw some of the most beautiful places and beaches in Australia and did so many great things like surfing, sand boarding and swimming with sea-lions and dolphins. Which was absolutely fantastic and something I will never forget for the rest of my life!! That was definitely the best experience on tour! I also like to thank our guide (Craig), because he did a good job. He told us, it was only his 2nd solo tour, and yes we missed some turns or need to search for some directions, but for us it was no problem and we just had fun and made the best of it, because it also showed us some beautiful places, that were not on the itinerary. Food on tour was always good, and a lot off variety for a camping trip. I just had a great tour!!

Hi Hassie / Jo
Yeah, if you could just turn the heating down a bit that would be great !
Seriously though, it was a great trip and very informative as well. The food as I mentioned when we met at your place was great, i can honestly say that its the best that I have eaten on any trip that I have done (and that's quite a few). Music is still a bit dodgy though.
Craig was always keen to please and worked really hard morning till night so great effort from him. Think I better stop now or this will sound like his CV.
Thought the camp at the haunted house was a bit weird !!! ask Craig what happened, not good, and I don't even believe in all that stuff.
Beaches were awesome !!
The tour at your place was great even though we never saw much accept loads of roo's, the star bit was great too. Often looked at them and I know a bit about them but never seen a DUCK there before. Nice one !

" I travelled from Adelaide to Perth in December 2010 with Nullarbor Traveller and I have nothing but compliments for Hassie, Jo and Simo (our guide) – because this is the number one tour for people of all ages. If you love the Australian outback, bush and beaches then you are up for a great treat indeed. I was lucky to have Simo as our intrepid guide as he took the group to the best of places, tailored-made almost, to ensure the optimal experiences along the route. I am not a young traveller but I found the engagement with the natural environment the most wonderful of experiences. These unsung beaches and National Parks are a bit of a secret – how lucky I was to pick this tour. I’ll be back for more! Thanks

Ellie, Australia November 2010,
Thank you so much for everything you did for me...it all went perfectly. The day out with the sharks was incredible. Despite my fears the weather was good and the seas not too choppy with no one being crook! Dramamine does help though!! I was quick to be in the first group..Tim's advice...and we only had to wait 20 minutes for the first shark to appear.. plenty of action in the cage spotting the shark about 5 or 6 times including a bite to the side of the cage and the body and tail flipping round to give us a bash..a bit alarming! As it was so calm we spent the whole afternoon on the deck shark spotting..there was lots of jumping out of the water and I have a great shot of one biting the cage (although we definately had the best underwater viewing)! All in all a fantastic day - I een got the DVD for free but keep that one to yourself!!!!!! The Navigators was great and Rose looked after me well and did me a good deal. All went to plan with the flights and got back to Melbourne relatively hassle free.
I really enjoyed the tour..it was a great way to spend my last couple of weeks in Australia and I will be leaving at the weekend with some very happy memories.
Please pass on my thanks to everyone involved at Coodlie and especially Tim who did an awesome job as a guide. (Can you let him know he still has a 100% success rate for shark encounters.)
Good luck with everything in the future and keep doing what you're doing!!!
Take care and thank you again

Also Cape Le Grand..the walk from Hellfire Bay to Lucky Bay was brilliant. Oh yeah and the tuna swim...Matt was a wonderful guide and his enthusiasm was infectious. Special mention to HAssie for his hard work and efforts to sort out my shark dive and everything that went with it ..it was above and beyond a tour operators duty and very much apprecialted!!

Thank you for a wonderful 9 day tour through the nullarbor. Seeing all the different places, being so close to the wildlife has been great. I really enjoyed the tour with Simo although it has been such a "special" group. There have been some people, who really gave Simo a hard time. I'm sorry that I couldn't help more, but talking in my mother tongue in such situation and finding the wright words isn't that easy.... I wish I've had a brilliant psychological idea to handle this situation.... and I'm still thinking on it.....

Most memorable experience on tour was sleeping under the stars for the first time and seeing the sky light up with loads of twinkling stars. Having a campfire every night and chilling with new friends.

Gerry, USA,
Cape Le Grand National Park was my favorite place on the trip. Magnificent views and a great camping site made this the most memorable. I enjoyed the time to take hikes and to spend time in different parts of the park. There's such spectacular scenery there and I wonder how many people ever get to see it. The Nullarbor Traveller brought that to me.
Simo did a great job of restructuring the itinerary to respond to the challenges of the weather. Particuarly early in the season, you may want to automatically plan for less camping and more hostels due to how cold it is. I understand that the amount of rain we had was unusual so perhaps that hasn't been an issue in past years. The cold though definitely made camping less enjoyable. Even though there were some things that we couldn't do because of the rain, Simo was continually thinking ahead and finding other ways to maximize our time and experience.

When your out in the outback & traveling through nature, you realise the three channels you ever need to watch are the bushfire channel, the sea channel & the sunset channel...when you get more than one at the same time...thats bliss!!!Its when you do a trip like this that you realize just how much nature, and Australia, has to offer...you'll feel at peace, excited, adventurous accompanied with good company, laughs all with a fab tour guide giving you info all the way...after 10 days...you'll want to stay longer!!! I miss my crew!!!Swimming with the Sea Lions & Dolphins was such an experience...they are so gentle yet playful, they must be able to 'feel' your heart pumping with nervous excitement!! Have to have to do it again!!!Some amazing sights you just wouldn't find if you weren't guided...& you wouldn't want to miss! The outback, the bays, the views...i could do it all over again. I would have to say that all of the experiences of the tour would be very highly rated by me. From camping out in the desert and really appreciating the night sky to the treks and climbs and the unrivalled bush hospitality shown to us by Jo and hassie on their property Coodlie Park Farm Retreat. At Coodlie Park i was amazed by its variety and ideas and I enjoyed the nocturnal drive with the baby wombat. I also enjoyed that space we had in the bus due to our small group. everything was well organised, I enjoyed it a lot and the whole tour will be in my memories for the rest of l\my life. I have to say that everything was just great. The group, the guide, the places, to pick something out is really difficult! The Cape Le Grand National Park was fantastic and I could have spend a whole week there exploring. But I also enjoyed the Nullarbor Plain and the cliffs, amazing countryside. Under water, for me the best was the Tuna

Cape le Grand was a highlight. I felt confident that Simo could deal with any situations that arose in the Aussie climate. The tour was a great Aussie experience. Simo was very knowledgable about a great range of things.
